She didn’t answer.
I pressed the phone against my ear.
“Valerie, I am asking you to tell me the truth. Did you and Brandon use my information for anything else?”
“I don’t know everything he did.”
The words made my heart stop.
“You don’t know everything?”
“He handled some of the paperwork. I thought he was taking care of it.”
“Then why did you sign the lease renewal?”
“Because he asked me to. He said it was just a formality.”
I sat completely still.
My daughter had admitted signing my name, but now she was suggesting that her husband had directed her to do it.
