I Carried a Baby for My Twin Brother—Then He Held His Newborn Daughter and Refused to Take Her Home

My brother flinched at my words, dropping his head in shame.

“The specialists told me about the upcoming procedures,” Lucas explained nervously. “They mentioned multiple surgeries, physical therapies, and years of expensive treatments. I heard those financial figures and I completely panicked.”

“She is your own daughter, Lucas!” I yelled softly, leaning forward.

“I know that,” he whispered.

“You held her for ten seconds and handed her back to me like an unwanted item!” I said, my voice trembling with anger.

“I know what I did, Nora,” Lucas said, pulling out a kitchen stool and slumping down completely defeated.

“The doctor called yesterday and confirmed it is a milder form of the condition,” I explained directly. “Hope will need an operation and regular checkups, but her long-term development looks very promising. Yet you walked out of that hospital room as if she were broken.”
